Description
Inlet kit for fitting forward-facing 3 inch custom intakes on an N63TU2 engine. Includes inlets for either N63TU2 or N63TU3 turbos, adapters to neck down to 3″ tubing (inlet end is 3.5″), inlet-to-adapter tension clamps, and MAF extension cables. Stock PCV system attaches directly to inlets with no modification required. Adapters are designed to attach to customer provided intakes using customer supplied silicone or similar flexible couplers and hose clamps.
Note that the N63B44M3 engine (in G05 X5 xDrive50i vehicles not labelled as “M50i”) uses the smaller TU2 turbos, even though the engine is labelled as N63TU3. The TU2 inlets should be purchased for those engines. The easiest way to identify the turbos is based on the presence of the blow-off valve: TU3 turbos have blow off valves and TU2 turbos do not.
Installation instructions:
- Pull charge pipes off turbos (leave the intercooler ends connected)
- Remove stock turbo inlets
- Detach electrical connector holders for rear O2 sensor wiring from plastic plates on top of the valve covers and move connectors to the side (so the inlets sit lower where they pass over the valve covers)
- Grease turbo inlet seal with supplied grease
- Attach inlets to the turbos, using a flathead screwdriver to lock the rotary attachment ring
- Grease PCV ports on the inlets and attach PCV hoses
- If the adapters are not already installed on the inlets:
- Grease inside of inlet ends where the adapters with their O-rings will be inserted
- Attach adapters to the inlets with the tension clamps (squeeze until they snap closed)
- Attach custom intakes using hose clampa or similar
To remove tension clamps, pry open with a flathead screwdriver in the slot where the two ends of the clamp meet.
